Low Fat Foods

Looking at health conscious people all around the world, low fat foods are becoming extremely popular everywhere. These low fat foods not only help people from eating junk food and gain harmful extra fat and calories, but the low fat food also makes the person feel better and lighter throughout the day too! What more the low fat foods are becoming attractive everyday and thus are more lucrative to the eaters than high fat ones.
Coming to the general properties of low fat foods, breads made form whole grains contain low fats and have high fiber & carbohydrates. These can be good substitutes, as low fat food, to high calorie muffins and donuts available. Again detrimental to low fat foods, snacks add the most amounts of fats to our bodies, because they are taken most often. Cakes, cookies and chips are the real killers!
In fact baked potatoes, or sugar free cakes as can substitute these as being branch of low fat foods. Sometimes a good fruit or green vegetables, that are low fat foods by nature, can replace the snacks. Moreover butter can be replaced by the low fat food versions like yogurts or herbs that add a different flavor to the diet.
Looking at low fat food list, there are so many around the corner themselves! Coming to the most common food...chicken or poultry. Depending upon the preparation, the so-called high calorie content preparations can be replaced by low fat but great taste version also. Baked chicken served with herb spice toppings, broiled chicken garnished with green vegetables and roasted chicken served with bread crumbs are sure mouth watering yet low fat foods.
Care must be taken to remove the skin are use low fat areas of the poultry like breast cuts and can be prepared in nonstick utensils to minimize the use of fatty oils, thus becoming low fat foods by nature. Even when preparing meat (Lamb or Beef) the same preparations can be utilized and care must be taken to use the lean cuts of the meat, which are again good as low fat foods.
Seafoods are also good as low fat foods! Lean Fish contain very low fat and can be prepared in a variety of delicious but low fat foods like poached fish, steamed fish, spring fish with grated vegetables, semi-baked fish served with herbs, which saves the mineral contents of the fish. One very low fat food popular in India is wood burnt fish where the fish is burnt in low charcoal fire and it gets fried and baked and gets a great taste when served with savored & select spices and red chilies.
One of the best ideas for taking low fat food is to substitute meat with its vegetarian alternatives. These low fat foods include cereals, peas, beans and lentils which can be boiled with a green vegetables and served with a little bit of fresh cream. That way these low fat foods appear attractive but also offer protein and fiber without the cholesterol and fat.
Again, one of the most favorite foods includes Cheese and butter. These can be replaced by cottage cheese and string cheese, which are indeed low fat foods but savors the same taste as the real ones. Moreover cottage cheese can also be used in salads and can add extra taste although being a low fat food. These low fat foods can be good providers of calcium and minerals in place of harmful fats.
